The instrument is designed to have the basic components of a percussion set to make it transportable, easy and quick to assemble. For this reason, the only cymbal included in the instrument is a closed hi-hat, as it is small and essential for creating percussion rhythms. Users can easily add their own additional cymbals at any time.

The instrument has been designed to be lightweight, compact and easily transportable. For this reason, the hi-hat included is intended as an attachment to the snare, for use as a closed hi-hat, and a pedal would greatly increase the weight and size as well as the number of items to be transported. However, the hi-hat included is adjustable for finding the sound that best suits you at any given moment. In addition, there is always the possibility of adding your own hi-hat with pedal next to the Hexadrum.

All the percussion components making up the Hexadrum are made of stabilized birch plywood and carbon fibre acoustic spine composite materials.

The Hexadrum weighs about 15 kg, taking up a space of 60 litres when packed. The dimensions of the instrument are 1140 x 775 x 790 mm when assembled and 312 x 338 x 478 mm when packed. This weight and size make it a perfect instrument for transporting and playing in small spaces.

All components except the pedal are kept inside the cajón in individual bags. To assemble the Hexadrum, you just need to remove all the items from the cajón and, by means of a wingnut system, attach the snare to the metal stand, and the two toms and the hi-hat to the snare using small aluminium separators, which allow the toms to be tilted and spaced as desired. To dismantle it, just go back through the steps and store all the items in their respective bags inside the cajón.

Hexadrum Lite: Bass Drum, Snare Drum, 2 Toms, 2 Caps for Sticks, 2 Snares, Hardware and HexaBag.

Hexadrum Pro: Bass Drum, Snare Drum, 2 Toms, 2 Caps for Sticks, 2 Snares, Hardware, HexaBag, Cajon Pedal, 10’’ Hi-Hat, Hi-Hat support, Hexasticks and carpet.

The Hexadrum Lite is designed for users who already have a bass drum pedal or who prefer to use their own hi-hat. This option allows you to buy the Hexadrum at a lower price if you prefer to use a different pedal or your favourite hi-hat brand.

In order to save any time required to adapt to the instrument, the Hexadrum has the same tonal distance between the different parts as a classic drum kit, with its own modern and distinctive character. It has been designed for any drummer to feel comfortable and familiar playing it right from the start.

It suits any musical style and its use depends on the preferences of the musician or band, just like a classic drum kit.

It can be played with preferably non-metallic brushes and wooden sticks with a silicone/rubber tip (practice tip).

Certainly. By adding snare wires on the inside of the bass drum, it can be used as a flamenco cajón.

It is designed to provide both types of sound: without snare wires for use as a bass drum and with snare wires for cajón.

You can also combine both options to your liking to find your own sound.

Of course, if you put microphones on it and amplify it, you can play anywhere.

Carbon fibre composite materials are unaffected by humidity and temperature changes and better withstanding daily use.

In addition, using our carbon fibre acoustic spine material makes it possible to equalize and adjust the drumheads to get the desired sound.

The Hexadrum Lite weighs less than 15 kg, while the Pro kit weighs about 20 Kg. Both can be taken around as a backpack or trolley and you can even carry them on a bicycle.

We have developed our own measurement and analysis technology called Ultra High-Accuracy Multimodal Acoustic Analysis (UHMAA). This helps us gain a deeper understanding of how these new materials vibrate and unlock their maximum acoustic potential. We analyse key aspects, including frequency response, amplitude, spectral decay over time and vibration modes. For more information: https://musewaves.com/technology/
